The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure that each project is executed within budget and on time while meeting or exceeding the quality standards.   It is accomplished by defining, monitoring and managing all phases or milestones throughout the duration of the project.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Available to consult on estimated costs, schedule and project requirements.
  • Responsible for completing and/or delegating the documentation requirements and understanding project specifications and timeframe, materials, scope of work and scheduling.
  • Takes ownership of the scope of work and communicates information as it becomes available with project team members.
  • Interacts with all staff to ensure the job is executed properly.
  • Provides technical solutions and timely assistance to shop and field staff as needed.
  • Interacts with account manager(s) and customer(s) to provide status updates.
  • Supervises shipping and receiving processes related to all phases of the project.
  • Manages cash flow by timely invoicing of project according to terms.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Minimum of two years’ post high school training and seven years in this or a related field OR equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, plate steel, structural or vessel and pipe fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and material specifications.
  • Project management, CAD and computer skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify opportunities and provide solutions with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment and hand tools
  • Experience with computers, office equipment and plotters, etc.
